Rashida R. Walker is a native of Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Science (2011) in Chemistry with a concentration in Forensic Chemistry minor in Biology and Master of Science (2014) in Forensic Sciences from The University of Alabama at Bir-mingham (UAB). During her matriculation at UAB, Rashidra worked in the Department of Anesthesiology under Dr. Jean-Francois Pittet where she was ¬¬¬valuable in creating a database for a clinical study that evaluated the effects of ICU acquired pneumonia. Rashidra currently attends Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) as a 2nd year doctoral student in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Basic Sciences Division Pharmacology/ Toxicology program. Rashidra is an active member in both student and professional organizations including: President-Elect of Graduate Assistants United (GAU) FAMU Chapter, President Chair Elect of the Ameri-can Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) FAMU Chapter, Alpha Kappa Mu (AKMu) Honor Society, and American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics to name a few. Rashidra currently works as a graduate assistant under Dr. Syreeta L. Tilghman, where her research focuses on treatments for Letrozole Re-sistant Breast Cancer. Since joining the Tilghman laboratory, Rashidra has made such significant contributions that she has been placed on the most-cutting edge and inno-vative research project titled “Proteomic Characterization of Aromatase Inhibitor Re-sistant Mammospheres Reveals the Presence of a Novel Nuclear Chaperone” which was submitted as an abstract to the 100th Endocrine Society Meeting in Orlando, FL and is currently being submitted for publication to BMC Cancer.
