After growing up in New Orleans, I moved to Miami, FL following Hurricane Katrina and attended high school there. I attended Duke University for my undergraduate studies and earned a B.S. in Neuroscience. Upon graduating, I moved back to Miami for a short stint of private tutoring, and the following year I moved to Tallahassee to pursue my graduate studies. I am currently a graduate student in the Ph.D. Program in Biomedical Sciences at Florida State University in the lab of Dr. Yi Ren. As a member of the Ren Lab, I study the mechanisms of neuroinflammation associated with spinal cord injury. I hope to continue in academia beyond graduate school and eventually become a professor at a research university.
